It's a cruel world out that...HISTORY is always written by the victors...and it;'s sad teacher sakamuni teachings have become such in the 21C

As a buddhist, i feel sadden by the recent chain of events involving monks; in particular...the degradation of buddha's teachings these days...
first it was Myanmar, now it's Tibet.

We all know when sakyamuni buddha taught the dharma 2600yrs ago, he specifically state some rules monks should follow, and entering and engaging into politics is a taboo.

Apart from that. did you notice how these poor monks are being manupulated by other interest groups, mainly western democractic/human rights group...

Yes, i dun agree that china should occupy tibet. but have we wondered...if they allow tibet to go free...wat would happen to taiwan, xinjiang and other semi-autonomous regions? there are around close to 200 nation states on this planet currently...we dun need to to complicate things further....Singapore for eg...wasn't slated to go independent anyhow...Would the United States of America willing to forgo some of their 50 states they occupy?
Look at how the indiginous people of Australia were marginalised...
People certainly have very short memories...it's only in the 1960s that black Americans were allowed to vote...

Sometimes i feel as a human being..we should pause and contemplate for a moment with wisdom and compassion; and look at the whole situation more objectively. Tibet was colonize by western powers before.

and these are probably the same group that is crying fowl now of china's action.
this double standard of "closing both eyes" to the plight of the Palestinians in west bank while having "2 eyes wide open with loud hailers" with regard to other regions leaves much to be desired...

Try not to get manipulated with wat you read in the news...look at the source...there's always more than 1 viewpoint.and dats definitely not the "terrorism, suicide bombers, islamic fundamentalist, anti democracy/human rights" view point that certain quarters wants us to sing with them.

i feel the tibetan issue currently is too politicised. I empathise with the tibetans.
but as the saying goes..."History is always written by the victors"

Tibetan Buddhism is a very much modified version of Buddhism that can be considered to be not Buddhism anymore. Its basic concept of Rinpoche above the Triplegem is already un-dhammic.

yeah. Teacher buddha taught his dharma somewhat like a buffet....he didnt say which dish is the best; thus creating what it is today...everyone going for their favourite...which is kinda fine as we are of different karmic past/tendencies?

Truths and Lies

A friend sent me this clip on McCruelty.com recently.... I'm sure this is just the tip of an ice-berg; behind the colours and gleamours of shopping malls and excessive consumerism of the modern human society lies all these "dirty laundry" kept away from the public eye. Another example i can think of is the BIG LIE where we are being programmed that we can just go about our daily lives concentrating on the "Consumption bit" and ignore the Extraction, Production, Distribution that came before that and Disposal that comes after that....It's time we wake up from Truths like "Perceived Obsolescence" and "Planned Obsolescence" McCruelty: I'm Hatin' It--Learn More.

it’s Too Late to be a Pessimist

Looking Inward instead of Outward and Walking the Talk… (my post japan trip report) 40 fantastic participants from 14 countries, 14 fabulous days with 3 well fed meals a day, 3 motherly guides, government officials, university professors, at least a dozen hardworking staff from the Japan Foundation and countless behind the scene people who cleaned our bathrooms, made our beds, serve us breakfast and coffee, drove us to our destinations and made our stay in Japan memorable; many thoughts were churned out during this period. I decided on this title as many of us during this trip saw, learnt, observed and tried to be more mindful of our actions; from refusing plastic bags given out at the am/pm 24-7 convenience shops to putting the “Do not disturb” tab on our doors the next morning NOT because we are anti-social but because we dun want the chambermaids to change our towels and bedsheets daily. There were occasions when I was at the Shinonome Elementary School and Chubo Landfill Site in To
